Dr Usui and the Discovery of Reiki
Dr Mikao Usui lived at the end of the nineteenth century in a monastery in Japan , he was a
Christian professor of Theology at Doshia University .
During long and sometimes heated discussions with his students , and fellow professors , on the subject of Jesus and of the healing miracles that were performed by him , questions would be asked time and time again , "what exactly was happening , when these miracles were taking place.
Dr Usui had great faith in the christen teachings , but he did not have scientific answers to the many questions that he and his students were asking .
He decided to further his spiritual journey , to try and find answers to his may questions , that blind faith could not satisfy . After careful and soul searching consideration , he decided to resign his post at the Doshia University , and search for answers .
Although Dr Usui was an expert on Christian theology , he decided he must explore other
know and unknown teachings and belief systems .He travelled to America , and spent seven years in Chicago , where he received a doctorate in Scripture at Chicago University .
On returning to Japan he mastered the ancient language of Sanskrit , with its origins in India
Japanese Bhudists had heard of his dedication, in searching for answers while on his metaphysical journey , and invited him to live amongst them in their Buddhist monastery , there he learned the secret texts ,sutras and mantras .
It was while reading these ancient texts , that he came across a passage in healing . This
information was not written in words , but in a formula of symbolic notation .
When he questioned the monks about this , they could not explain the information contained within the formula , as this had been long forgotten ,The monks teachings were now on the physical aspect of healing the mind through the teachings of Buddhism .
Dr Usui new that these symbols held the answer to what he was looking for .These symbols were keys to a long forgotten method of healing , used by Buddha , Christ and other ascended beings .
